A good display from the waders displaced by the high tide was rounded off with a posing common seal, a Short eared Owl that flew in from the sea, 5 Little stints on the lagoons and a single wheatear in the grass.
Black Redstart - all pictures 1oth October. A week-end of mass migration at its best with ringing records falling on a daily basis at the observtory, and peaking at approx 420 birds on the 10th

Living in Bedford I am fortunate enough to be able to spend a lot of time on the Norfolk Coast, based around Snettisham and Holme. Most of my photos are likely to come from Norfolk but Bedfordshire does throw up some surprises occasionally, including our best Garden bird, my first Firecrest, feeding on bushes 15 feet from the back window.
