For technical reasons currently beyond me the usual method of uploading/sharing videos for the blog that I have first uploaded to Youtube is not working. PLASTIC!! Looks like you were filming in a zoo. All the birds were ringed and you could see the food you were chucking. TEE HEE
The birds were wild birds and not filmed at a zoo. They were coming to a feeding station at Holme Bird Observatory. Because of the harsh weather several water Rails have regularly been coming out into the open to feed - and have been trapped and ringed as a result. likewise many of the small birds that have stayed in the area of the observatory have been trapped and ringed.The point of the video and the stills in the previous post is that this has allowed vistors to enjoy exceptional views of a normally shy and elusive bird, only bettered by seeing the bird 'in the hand' after it had been ringed
